Case Report
Summary of Observations and Anomalies
Team assembled on site at
Approximately 12:30p. Equipment was unloaded and a grid was established using
standard procedures. Baseline for grid was set to 5 Ft (60 Inches) running in a
convenient pattern to align with the ruins.
There are markers near the Heald house for Jacob and Queti Zumwalt, but evidence suggests these are simply markers – no bodies. It is believed that Jacob, Qutei and perhaps as many as 6 of their children are buried somewhere on the site. The actual location of these graves have been lost, but one account reports that Queti died on the property in July of 1799 and “was buried near the log house.”
At
one point, the batteries in the Nikon and the
EMF readings that were off the baseline were recorded inside of fireplace, on east side. See EMF summary above for details.
Chimney remaining at ruins must have had some repairs in the past. Inside seems to have been cleaned and tuck pointed. Iron work that remains may not be original. Mold and Lichen on noth side as to be expected in an exposed structure.
